(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 22 SET - A delegation of representatives from 14 Austrian companies and institutions visited the Port of Trieste today as part of an economic mission organised by Advantage Austria, an organisation within the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber that promotes business internationalisation. Marco Consalvo, President of the Eastern Adriatic Port System Authority, welcomed the group, led by Austrian Commercial Consul Christoph Plank, to the Lloyd Tower. The meeting provided an opportunity to highlight the port's infrastructure, intermodal services, and key investment initiatives. The discussion centred on potential collaborations in freight transportation, terminal management, automation, monitoring systems, and the creation of new logistics and industrial facilities. Austria is the Port of Trieste's second-largest rail market. In 2025, 1,500 trains were operating, with 16 weekly services to Wels, Lambach, Vienna, Wolfurt, Kapfenberg, and Linz.
