International marine pollution response exercise will be held in Koper

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 17 SET - The international marine pollution response exercise "POLex 2026" will be held on September 23 and 24 in Koper, Slovenia. The event is being organised and hosted by the Slovenian Maritime Administration as part of the European project "Adriatic Sensitive Areas Protection Mechanism" (ASAP), which is being coordinated by the Executive Secretariat of the Central European Initiative. ASAP, which is co-financed by the EU, brings together partners from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Italy, Montenegro, and Slovenia. The exercise will simulate an oil spill in the Northern Adriatic, putting operational capabilities, standard procedures, and cross-border coordination to the test. Authorities from Adriatic countries and European agencies, such as EMSA, EFCA, and Frontex, will take part. (ANSA).
