(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 16 SET - Registration is now open for the sailing event "Go to Barcolana from Slovenia," which will take crews from Portorož to the Gulf of Trieste on October 10—the day before Generali's major Barcolana58 regatta. The initiative, presented today in Koper (Capodistria), involves a flotilla crossing from Slovenia's coast to Trieste, combining competition with the pleasure of sailing together. According to Mitja Gialuz, president of the Barcola and Grignano Sailing Club (SVBG), "Go to Barcolana from Slovenia" is an annual event that "draws an increasing number of Slovenian sailors into the Barcolana programme." It is a "well-established event that we hope to continue growing." The event is organised by SVBG, in collaboration with TPK-CNT Sirena, Jadralni Klub Pirat Portorož, and ZSŠDI (the Union of Slovenian Sports Associations in Italy), with support from the Slovenian Tourist Board. The start is set for October 10 at 11:00 AM from the Gulf of Portorož. (ANSA).
