(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUL 3 - Alexis Tsipras, leader of the new Greek left-wing party ELAS, chastised Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for making excessive concessions to the United States during the Iran war, contrasting his actions with those of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, who barred the US military from using military bases in Spain. In an interview with Politico, Tsipras claimed that Mitsotakis' government granted the United States indefinite access to strategic military bases throughout Greece, including the Souda naval base in Crete, rather than renewing the agreement on base use on a regular basis, accompanied by renegotiations of the terms.
