Slovenia to increase the minimum wage by 16% in 2026

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JAN 22 - Slovenia's national minimum wage will rise by 16% this year to EUR 1,482 gross, Labour Minister Luka Mesec announced on Thursday, according to Slovenian news agency STA. The take-home pay will vary based on individual circumstances such as the number of dependents and tax breaks, but it will be EUR 1,000 netto for a single person without children, according to STA. In previous weeks, unions had welcomed the figure and businesses had criticised it as damaging for the economy. (ANSA).
