Kick – off Meetings: KEP Projects “SAFE ADRIA” and “COOPERADRIA”

The activities for the projects entitled “SAFE ADRIA” and “COOPERADRIA”, started last week with kick-off meetings in Venice, Italy, on the premises of the Consortium for the Intermodal and Logistics Training (CFLI), the training structure owned by the Venice Port Authority.

The events gathered representatives of all of the main stakeholders involved in the two projects:
The know-how donor partner of both projects, the CFLI, was represented by Ms Cristiana Spadaro and Mr Guido Vettorel. The Port of Venice, donor partner in SAFEADRIA, was represented by Mr Emanuele Zanotto, Head of Environmental Division of the Port of Venice.

The meetings were also attended by representatives of the know-how recipients of the projects: The Port of Bar, Montenegro, was represented by Mr Rade Stanisic and Mr Dejan Durdevic. The Albanian Institute of Transport was represented by Ms Klotilda Binjaku.

Technical presentations were delivered by Mr Guido Vettorel, who explained the implementation phases of the two projects as well as the expected results. Mr Emanuele Zanotto briefly presented the best practices of the Port of Venice in the field of environmental protection, one of the topics of the SAFEADRIA project. Mr Rade Stanisic delivered a presentation about the Port of Bar.

SAFEADRIA aims to enable the know-how acquisition and development of action plans in order to improve the environmental protection and safety conditions at work in the Port of Bar. Another project goal is to strengthen cooperation among the project stakeholders to develop common safety procedures in port infrastructures in the Adriatic area.

COOPERADRIA aims to enhance the capability of the management staff of the Albanian Institute of Transport to develop and manage projects, particularly with regard to the European Union Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA) and to initiatives promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The CEI co-finances the projects with resources from the CEI Trust Fund at the EBRD through the CEI Know-how Exchange Programme (KEP).
