Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Vuk Jeremic received Ambassador Gerhard Pfanzelter in Belgrade on 21 January 2011 in order to discuss the priorities of Serbia’s CEI Presidency in 2011.
Prime Minister Cvetkovic underlined that Serbia took the chairmanship role with the utmost seriousness and reiterated that European integration, strengthening regional cooperation and fostering good neighbourly relations are among the top priorities of Serbia’s foreign policy. The Prime Minister expressed high appreciation for the financial support provided by the CEI every year for projects in Serbia.
Minister Jeremic stressed the great attention Serbia had been paying to regional cooperation as a prerequisite for European integration, underlining the CEI’s role as a most efficient instrument in this endeavour.
“The mix of new vigour and new energy provided by Serbia and the valuable experience and membership of the CEI,will be used to reap all benefits of an effective regional cooperation”, Minister Jeremic stated.
