5th SUGAR Project Meeting in London

Sustainable Urban Goods Logistics Achieved by Regional and Local Policies (SUGAR) is a Project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and made possible by the Interreg IV C Programme.

The 5th official project meeting of all participating organisations was organised in London from 30 November to 3 December, by Transport for London, Project Partner.

In agreement with the Emilia Romagna Region as Lead Partner, and the Institute for Transport and Logistics in Bologna as Technical Coordinator, the event focussed in particular on how to engage in public private partnerships with regard to urban freight management and how to improve street design to enable safe and legal loading without detriment to local business.

The core of the Project is on exchange of best practices in city logistics and therefore this event evolved around exchange of views among practitioners, city authorities and industry, site visits and train the trainer sessions with stakeholders from the partnership and beyond.

The CEI participated in its capacity of Project Partner and reported on the successful event organised in Tirana on 16 November targeting national stakeholders of CEI member States. For more information on the Project.   For more information: www.sugarlogistics.eu
