Slovenia celebrates WWII resistance movement

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, APR 27 - Slovenia will commemorate the Day of Uprising Against Occupation on Saturday, a holiday honouring the resistance to Nazi and Fascist occupation during WWII. Slovenian territory was divided among Germany, Italy, and Hungary following the attack led by Nazi Germany on April 6, 1941. The self-declared Fascist Independent State of Croatia occupied five villages near Brežice, according to Slovenian news agency STA. Many communities across the country will commemorate the resistance movement today with a variety of events. (ANSA).
