Romania: media, 700-million tender for airport terminal soon

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 6 - The Romanian authorities will soon launch a tender for the construction of a new terminal at the Henri Coanda International Airport (Otopeni) airport, the main in the country, the specialized portal Business Review reported. The project value has being estimated at 700 million euro. The investment in the terminal will be financed from European Union funds and from the budget of the state-owned airport company, Business Review said. In the last years, the number of passengers flying to and from Romania has increased, also due to the entry into the market of low-cost companies, with a 7.9% increase of passengers numbers in 2018, up to 21.8 million, with 13.8 million from and to Otopeni.
