Friuli Venezia Giulia in Prague: "Strengthening Cultural Relations"

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 21 OTT - Mario Anzil, Vice-Governor of Friuli Venezia Giulia with responsibility for Culture, visited the Italian Embassy in Prague with the goal of strengthening cultural ties between Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Czech Republic while emphasising the region's role as a borderland and the opportunities presented by Pordenone's designation as the Italian Capital of Culture 2027. He was greeted by Alessandro Gaudiano, the Italian Ambassador to the Czech Republic. A delegation from *Pordenonelegge*, led by its president, Michelangelo Agrusti, as well as former European Parliament Member Pier Luigi Castagnetti, also attended the visit. "This was an important opportunity to discuss cultural relations between our region and the Czech Republic—particularly in Prague—and to plan new forms of cultural collaboration," Anzil stated. "As a borderland and a meeting place for different peoples and traditions, Friuli Venezia Giulia aims to continue promoting a new 'culture of the frontier,' capable of transforming diversity into opportunities for dialogue and shared growth." The Vice-Governor concluded: "Gorizia's experience as a European Capital of Culture has left an important legacy, which we intend to build on through new international ties. Pordenone's designation as the Italian Capital of Culture 2027 provides an additional opportunity to consolidate exchanges, develop joint projects, and strengthen dialogue in the creative sphere.
