(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 21 SET - The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania was inaugurated today in Trieste, attended by Dalia Kreivienė, Lithuanian Ambassador to Italy. The Honorary Consul is Lilli Samer, the CEO of Samer & Co. Shipping S.p.A., a historic Trieste-based shipping company founded in 1919. Ambassador Kreivienė emphasised that the consulate's establishment coincides with increased logistical integration between the Adriatic and Baltic regions. "I accept this role with great enthusiasm and a spirit of service," said Samer as she cut the ribbon at the new consulate premises, located at Via San Nicolò 15 in the World Trade Centre Trieste complex. In addition to attending the consulate's inauguration, the Lithuanian Ambassador met with Trieste Mayor Roberto Dipiazza and visited the Eastern Adriatic Sea Port Authority headquarters, where she was greeted by President Marco Consalvo. A presentation on the Port of Klaipėda and Lithuanian business was also held at the Venezia Giulia Chamber of Commerce, attended by Chamber President Antonio Paoletti. (ANSA).
