Udine-Klagenfurt, stronger cooperation between the two universities

(ANSA) - UDINE, 13 GEN - Strengthening and expanding an already well-established partnership in education, research, and relations with the economic and productive sectors. This was the goal of the meeting between the rectors of the Universities of Udine, Angelo Montanari, and Klagenfurt, Ada Pellert, who led their respective delegations in discussions on the future prospects of cross-border cooperation. The news was reported by the University of Udine today. The talks focused on the joint development of teaching and research and on universities' role in supporting the productive systems of neighboring regions. Potential complementarities were also examined in the fields of sustainability and knowledge valorization, with a view to territorial impact and the transfer of research outcomes. The universities of Udine and Klagenfurt have maintained decades-long cooperation across education and research. Six double-degree master's programs are currently offered, granting qualifications recognized in both Italy and Austria, in the fields of engineering, computer science, communication, languages, and law. Numerous joint research projects are also underway, including initiatives developed within the Uniud Lab Village. The Klagenfurt delegation included Vice Rector for Education and Diversity Doris Hattenberger, Head of the Department of Legal Sciences Gerhard Baumgartner, and Fiorenza Ninin from the International Office. Representing the University of Udine were Vice Rector Giorgio Alberti and delegates Agostino Dovier, Enrico Salvati, Elena D'Orlando, Sara Colussi, and Giovanni Cortella. (ANSA).
