Romania: 95,000 kids with a parent working abroad

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCTOBER 22 - The total number of minors with parents working abroad reached 94,991 in Romania at the end of June 2018, 195 more than in the previous period, the news agency Agerpres reported, quoting data from the National Authority for the Protection of Child's Rights and Adoption (ANPDCA). According to ANPDCA, 18,012 children had both parents working abroad, 496 more than in the previous quarter. Of the 18,012, 16,797 were in the care of relatives without any protection measures, while the rest was placed in foster care, placement centres or living with other families. Around 13,000 children came from families with a single parent working abroad, while 63,891 children had a parent out of two working abroad. (ANSA).
