In the framework of BLUE_BOOST project, we are inviting Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), start-ups and Knowledge Providers: students, researchers, computer scientists, developers, entrepreneurs, start-ups, R&D&Blue Growth experts, designers, fab-labs, co-working spaces, innovation hubs, tech shops and other subjects active in the world of innovation to take part in Blue Hackathon - the first “marathon” of sustainable innovation in Friuli Venezia Giulia dedicated to the sea.

During the 2-day event on 18-19 June 2019, innovators will have the chance to work and compete in multidisciplinary teams in order to find a creative solution for “innovation challenges” in the fields of:

  • Environment & Costal Protection,
  • Smart Shipbuilding
  • Maritime Transport & Yachting Services.

The participants will be guided by our mentors for a better chance to face presented challenges, to pitch their solutions and contribute, with creative ideas, to the sustainable growth of Blue economy. The most innovative solution will be awarded.

During the first day (from 10:00 to 12:30h), a multidisciplinary laboratory on the development of project proposals in the framework of the BLUE_BOOST Call for Innovation Vouchers will take place. The laboratory will provide more information about the Call that is offering 350.000 EUR in the form of innovation vouchers to 35 selected Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and Start-Ups for implementing innovation projects together with a registered Knowledge Provider.

BLUE_BOOST is funded under the Interreg ADRION Programme. It aims at stimulating, coaching and funding innovation within traditional and emerging Blue Economy sectors in the Adriatic-Ionian region. It is intended to enhance territorial cohesion among 7 ADRION maritime regions of Italy, Croatia, Albania and Greece, and to boost quadruple-helix potential through an open source, knowledge sharing, and community-based approach, resulting from cooperation between MSMEs, new innovation agents and RD&I bodies.

The CEI - Executive Secretariat is implementing the project pilot actions in the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and leading the project communications (WPC).
