Eu: auto, registrations up +29.5% five months into 2021

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUN 17 - The demand for new cars increased in the European Union by 29.5%, reaching 4.3 million units registered in total, the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) said today. According to ACEA, each of the four major markets posted double-digit percentage increases so far this year, with Italy at the top (+62.8%), followed by France (+50.1%), Spain (+40.0%) and Germany (+12.8%). A significant increase in passenger car registrations was also registered in Croatia (+44.0%), Poland (+38.5%), Bulgaria (+26.6%), Austria (+25.8%), Czech Republic (+21.5%), Slovenia (+20.5%) and Hungary (+17.9%), while Romania (-9.1%) was the only EU country observing a fall in registrations, ACEA data show.
