Italy-Serbia: pandemic confirmed the strong relationship

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 18 GEN - The relationship between Italy and Serbia and the prospects for further strengthening of bilateral collaboration, also in the parliamentary sphere, were the key themes of talks between Italy's Ambassador Carlo Lo Cascio and the MP Jovan Palalic, president of the interparliamentary group for friendship with Italy at the National Assembly. In reviewing the events that occurred in 2020, both the Ambassador and the MP underling with satisfaction how the explosion of the pandemic, rather than splitting up the two countries - both committed to addressing the health emergency internally - confirmed once more the solidity of the friendship relations and close cooperation between Italy and Serbia. "The exchanges of ministerial visits in such a complex situation were the best proof of the intensity of the bonds of friendship that unite Rome and Belgrade," said Lo Cascio, according to a statement from the Italian Embassy. During the meeting, Palalic also focused on the Serbian Parliament's activities in this initial part of its term. (ANSA).
