Migrants: in Bosnia number halved, from 12,000 to 6,100

(ANSA) - SARAJEVO, 24 NOV - Bosnian Security Minister Selmo Cikotic said the number of migrants in Bosnia "has gone down by half thanks to measures adopted by the authorities: there were 12,000 and now there are 6,100". Cikotic said the result is due to improved border controls as well as the fact that potentially at-risk people are deported and people who are part of the migrant trafficking network are put on trial. He said Bosnia has signed a readmission accord with Pakistan, and is in talks with countries where the majority of migrants come from: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, and Morocco. (ANSA).
