(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 23 OTT - LJUBLJANA, OCTOBER 23 - After a second record day for the number of infections yesterday, the Slovenian government has decided on further closures starting from Saturday. In a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Janez Jansa, the cabinet established that shops, hotels, and other businesses still in operation would remain closed and preschools and junior high schools. Public transport will reduce its activity by up to a third, while all companies and businesses that can work with remote work are encouraged to adopt this measure. According to Jansa, the cabinet will assess all the measures from week to week based on the epidemic's evolution. Moreover, the government is working on the sixth package of measures, to mitigate the consequences of the epidemic's second wave. The government is also considering limiting vehicle circulation to the municipality of residence and no longer to the region and carrying out mass tests to verify the actual virus spread. Today the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) has also included the coastal-karst area in the emergency list, thus decreeing the entire country as a red zone. (ANSA).
