Coronavirus: Romania provides loan guarantees to big compani

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 23 MAY - Romania will support companies with an annual turnover of more than 20 million euro, affected by the coronavirus pandemics, with a program of loan guarantees. The government in Bucharest has approved a memorandum to grant over around 1.65 billion euro to coronavirus-hit companies, the specialized portal SeeNews reported. The program, supposed to be approved by an emergency decree at the next government meeting, will see the state providing guarantees for up to 80% of the credits for a period of six years and covering up to 50% of the interest. The initiative will be carried out by the EximBank and it is subject to the approval by the European Commission, the portal added. (ANSA).
