Coronavirus: 111,673 cases in New Europe area, 1,591 deaths

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, APRIL 4 - A total of 111673 confirmed cases of coronavirus (+8686 day-on-day), 79696 in Germany only, were registered in countries in Central- and Eastern Europe, Germany, Austria and Greece as April 3, show official data of national authorities collected by the World Health Organization (WHO). The total number of fatalities in the region is 1591 (+210), out of which 1017 registered in Germany, 158 in Austria, 94 in Romania. Most of cases of COVID-19 in the area were registered in Germany (79696, +6174 in the last 24 hours), followed by Austria (11129, +418), Czech Republic (3858, +269), Poland (2946, +392), Romania (2738, +278), Greece (1514, +139), Serbia (1171, +111), Croatia (1011, +48), Ukraine (987, +183), Slovenia (897, +56), Estonia (858, +79), Lithuania (649, +68), Moldova (591, +168), Hungary (585, +60), Bosnia-Herzegovina (521, +57), Latvia (458, +12), Bulgaria (457, +35), Slovakia (426, +26), North Macedonia (384, +30), Albania (277), Belarus (254, +62), Montenegro (140, +20) and Kosovo (126, +1). In Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania and in the Western Balkans (Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Albania) 7722 confirmed cases and 179 deaths were registered until April 3. Austria has registered 1250 cases of COVID-19 per million, compared to 1905 in Italy, followed by Germany (958), Estonia (645), Slovenia (433). In the region, Austria has also registered the highest number of deaths per one million population (17.7), followed by Germany (12.2) and Estonia (8.2). Italy has recorded 230 deaths per million inhabitants as of yesterday. (ANSA).
