(ANSA) - ZAGREB - The United States of America is ready to abolish visas for citizens of Croatia by the end of this year, and soon the two countries should sign an agreement to avoid double taxation. The deal was announced by the US secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, and the Croatian foreign minister, Gordan Grlic Radman, after a meeting on the sidelines of the International Security Conference in Munich. "Croatia has met all the conditions that the United States requires, and it is now only a matter of when," said Grlic Radman, underlining that the abolition of visits to the United States has been a priority for Croatian diplomacy for at least a decade. The same applies to the agreement on double taxation which "will facilitate economic operations between our two countries". Among the EU countries, Washington still requires entry visas for citizens of Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, and Cyprus, whereas they were abolished for the Poles last year. (ANSA).
