EU-19: Eurostat, annual inflation in April rose to 1.7

(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, MAY 17 - Inflation on an annual basis, in the Eurozone, in April, rose to 1.7%, from 1.4% recorded in March. In April 2018 it was 1.2%. Eurostat reported. Annual inflation in the EU's 28 countries, in April 2018, was 1.9%, against 1.6% in March. The previous year it was 1.5%. The lowest rates were recorded in Croatia (0.8%), Denmark and Portugal (both 0.9%). The highest rate was recorded in Romania (4.4%) and Hungary (3.9%). In Italy, the rate remained stable at 1.1%. In April 2018 it was 0.6%. Services had the highest impact on the increase (up 0.86%), followed by energy (up 0.51%), food, alcohol, and tobacco (up 0.29%), and industrial goods excluding energy (up 0.06%). (ANSA).
