(ANSA) - TRIESTE, NOV 25 - "With ongoing negotiations, I believe there is universal consensus on one fundamental point: the end of the war cannot be interpreted as a surrender of Ukraine, and thus of Europe," stated Franco Dal Mas, Secretary General of the Central European Initiative (CEI), during his opening remarks at the meeting of CEI National Coordinators held in Belgrade under the Serbian Presidency. "Peace must respect human rights, the rule of law, and Ukraine's territorial and political sovereignty," Dal Mas stated. "Quick solutions cannot come at the expense of justice and stability," said the CEI Secretary General, adding that "peace must be fair, secure, and based on the founding principles of the European Union."
