Greece: special supervised for just another week

(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 14 AGO - On August 20th Greece is going to leave the EU enhanced surveillance regime after bailout in 2010. The European Commissioners Paolo Gentiloni and Valdis Dombrovskis recently validated the decision announced to the Eurogroup last June 16th in a letter sent to the Greek finance minister, Christos Staikouras, this week. The European Commission acknowledges that Athens has fulfilled most of its political commitments and has put in place an effective reform agenda, even in the difficult circumstances caused by Covid-19 pandemic and war in Ukraine. Athens will thus pass to the post-program surveillance cycle (Spp) and to the regular European semester for monitoring economic, fiscal and financial situation. (ANSA).
