Bosnia: CoE, anti-human trafficking framework improved

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUN 28 - The Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA) praised Bosnia and Herzegovina's enhanced legislative and regulatory framework against human trafficking, but urged for strengthened implementation, particularly in terms of victims' access to justice and appropriate remedies, the Council of Europe said in a statement today. The majority of the 306 potential victims of human trafficking identified between 2017 and 2021 were children used for begging, according to a report based on a GRETA visit to the country in September 2017 and information provided by the authorities and civil society. GRETA asks the government to increase the prevention of child trafficking, notably by giving enough financial support to daycare centres for street children. (ANSA).
