Hungary to EU, on the rule of law some 'unfounded' points

(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, JUN 28 - Hungary has responded to the notification letter sent two months ago by the European Commission. This step initiated the conditionality mechanism that allows the EU to suspend direct payments to a state when the rule of law violations threaten to harm the European budget. Hungarian Minister of Justice, Judit Varga, announced on Facebook. "We have answered all the Commission's questions professionally, despite - Varga complained - at some points we found Brussels' concerns unfounded." "We will continue to believe in a direct and professional dialogue," the minister added, saying she is ready for "discussion and agreement." (ANSA).
