In Poland the most polluting power station in the EU

In Poland the most polluting power station in the EU (ANSA) - TRIESTE - The lignite-fired plant in Belchatow (Poland) is the most polluting power station in Europe, according to the report ''Europe's Dirty 30'', conducted by - among others - by the Climate Action Network, the WWF and the European Environmental Bureau. This Polish plant has a generation capacity of 5,298 MW in 2013 and was responsible for CO2 emissions of 37.18 Mt/a. Belchatow is followed by Neurath, Niederaussem, Jaenschwalde, Weisweiler, Lippendorf and Boxberg power stations, all based in Germany, then come Drax (UK), Agios Dimitrios (Greece) and Brindisi Sud (Italy).
