4helix+: 2nd Steering Committee meeting in Lisbon

The 2nd 4helix+ Project Steering Committee meeting - held at the premises of the Portuguese project partner in Lisbon on 3-4 July - addressed in detail the upcoming project events and activities, namely the 4helix+ Blue Bootcamps, Regional Info Days, and Transbrokerage Event. The core project activities that those events revolved around were also covered, i.e. the launch of Expression of Interest for Knowledge Providers and the preparation of the Innovation Voucher Call for maritime sector companies.

A thorough discussion focused on defining the whole spectrum of aspects regarding the above activities and setting clear frameworks for the start of their organisation and implementation.

A strong promotional campaign will accompany this process all along, raising awareness of the project target groups about the opportunities offered by the project.

In particular, the campaign will initially focus on attracting Knowledge Providers (namely Cultural and Creative Industries and Non-institutional New Innovation Agents) to join the project in order to promote their "creative innovation" expertise among the MED blue sector Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and start-ups.

Subsequently, the campaign will aim at attracting MSMEs, offering them the opportunity to apply for an innovation voucher of up to €10.000, to be used for a Knowledge Provider of their choice for the implementation of a small creative innovation project within their company.

4helix+ is funded under the Interreg MED Programme. It aims at stimulating, coaching and funding innovation within the Blue Growth sector in the Mediterranean (MED) area. It is intended to improve the gap between the 8 Mediterranean regional maritime clusters and within their four helixes through an open source, knowledge sharing, and community-based approach, resulting from cooperation with new innovation agents and cultural and creative industries.
