Straniak Academy for Democracy and Human Rights, Ulcinj (Montenegro)
The 4th Straniak Academy for Democracy and Human Rights is taking place on 4 to 17 September 2016 in Ulcinj/Montenegro. Thirty students and young graduates from the Western Balkan Region and other CEI Member States have been selected to take part in the academic programme.
The Academy is coordinated by the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights-Research Association in Vienna and implemented in cooperation with the Faculty of Law of the University in Vienna and the Faculties of Law and Political Science of the University in Montenegro.
The goal of the Academy is to promote academic education on democracy, human rights and the rule of law in the Western Balkan region as a specific focus. The Academy establishes a link connecting academia and practice, promoted through an interdisciplinary and interactive format. To keep abreast with political, legal and social changes and to underscore the Academy’s continuous relevance for future professionals, a reasonable part of each year’s programme focuses on current political and social issues.
This event is co-financed by the CEI Cooperation Fund.
