CNC Meeting, Trieste (Italy)
The 4th meeting of the Committee of National Coordinators (CNC) under the Macedonian CEI Presidency 2015 is taking place in Trieste on 18 September. The gathering will focus on the forthcoming high-level and expert events of the Presidency as well as on the new challenges in the CEI Region, particularly in view of the recent escalation of the European migrant crisis. In this context, the CEI has invited the Director of the Migration, Asylum, Refugees Regional Initiative (MARRI), Ambassador Tamara Mugosa, to illustrate the current situation in the Balkans, one of the most crowded transit routes of migrants and discuss and identify areas of cooperation for a proactive response to possible new developments.
This approach is also in line with the recently launched Extraordinary Call for Proposals for co-financing CEI Cooperation Activities on migration and related crime issues (deadline: 15 October 2015).
The CNC will be invited to approve a number of important Technical Cooperation Projects financed out of the Italian CEI Fund at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
A number of projects in the framework of the Know-how Exchange Programme (KEP), financed by the same Fund, will be also submitted to the National Coordinators for approval.
