CEI Ministerial Conference "Energy Turnaround", Vienna (Austria)
As part of the Austrian CEI Presidency, a CEI Ministerial Conference “Energy Turnaround” will be convened in Vienna on 9 October 2014. For the first time, CEI Ministers of Agriculture and Environment will have the chance to discuss a subject of common interest.
In the light of the increasing demand for natural resources in many parts of the world, this conference will focus on theenergy turnaround and its key players. Two policy areas, which are clearly key actors for a successful energy turnaround are agriculture and environment. Both can benefit from the economic chances energy turnaround offers, for instance in the area of renewable energy.
Agriculture and environment are also facing the serious challenge of adaptation to climate change. An important question for environmental policies is how to tackle the increasing demand and limited availability of natural resources in the future.
The CEI Ministerial Conference will be held jointly with the International Conference "Regions - The Key Actors for Energy Turnaround" organised by the Austrian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment & Water Management and the Austrian Climate and Energy Fund together with the R20-Regions of Climate Action under the auspices of Arnold Schwarzenegger.
