COME-IN Project: Meeting of partners, Graz (Austria)
On 5-6 December, the partners of the ptoject COME-IN! Cooperating for Open access to Museums – towards a widEr INclusion) - funded under the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme - are meeting in Graz arranged in three working groups.
The project aims at enhancing the CE cultural heritage, increasing the capacities of small and medium-sized museums, by making them accessible to a wider public of people with different kinds of disabilities.
during the gathering they will jointly work on defining the guidelines, which will serve for reaching the transnational accessibility standards to be adopted by all museums.
The first working group gathers associations dealing with disabilities, which will identify minimum functional standards for all categories. The second one consists of museum representatives who will exchange views on necessary interventions and on the current state-of-the-art in each museum in terms of accessibility. Finally, the third group - made up of representatives of training institutions - will analyse the state-of-art and prepare a training handbook for museum operators.
The first steering committee will take place after this working grouop meeting, where partners will agree on the first outputs produced and on the forthcoming steps towards accessibility guidelines, museum action plans and training for museum operators.
The CEI, in its capacity as lead partner, will coordinate and support the partners in order to ensure the delivery of the mentioned outputs. Financial training will be provided to facilitate the partners' reporting and a smooth financial flow.
