Auto: EIB supports innovative Croatian car maker Rimac

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, DECEMBER 10 -The European Investment Bank (EIB) has announced that it will provide a 30-million-euro loan to Croatian car company Rimac Automobili, one of the leaders in the production of electric cars. The loan is guaranteed by the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) and will support the "research and development of electric vehicles and related components," EIB said in statement. Moreover, the funding will help Rimac's "transformation into a technology solutions provider for electric vehicles and an industrial-scale producer of components for the global automotive sector." EIB recalled that Rimac has doubled already in size over the last 12 months and now it is employing over 450 people, mostly in research and development. The company's goal is to become one of the leading employers and exporters in the country, expanding into European and Asian markets. (ANSA).
