Germany: exports growing in August by 2.2%

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCTOBER 9 - Germany exported goods to the value of 105.2 billion euros in August 2018, +2.2% on August 2017 and -0.1% month-on-month, the German statistical office (Destatis) said in a statement today. The majority of the exports, more than 59 billion euros, were directed towards Member States of the European Union. According to Destatis estimates, the largest European economy imported goods to the value of 88.1 billion euros last August, +6.2% on August 2017, but -2.7% on the previous month. The foreign trade balance recorded a surplus of 18.3 billion euros calendar and seasonally adjusted in August 2018. (ANSA).
