Migrants:nearly 7,000 apprehended at Turkey border in 7 days

(ANSA) - ISTANBUL - Turkish authorities have apprehended 6,801 migrants and refugees over the past week as they were trying to cross the border with the European Union or to enter the country without regular documents. They included 740 who were intercepted at sea, the Turkish interior ministry said. The ministry added that over the same period a reported 105 alleged human traffickers were arrested by authorities. Ever since a controversial agreement signed on March 2016 with Brussels, the number of migrants and refugees who have reached every day the EU, especially Greece, from Turkey, has decreased in a considerable way.
