Luigi Soreca appointed as new EU ambassador to Albania

(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, JULY 19 - EU High Representative Federica Mogherini has appointed the Italian diplomat Luigi Soreca as new head of the EU delegation to Albania. He replaced the Croatian diplomat Romana Vlahutin, in charge since 2014. Soreca is currently serving as Director for Security at European Commission's DG Home. Diana Acconcia and Giovanni di Girolamo are the other two Italians nominated among the 24 new ambassadors. Acconcia will be the head of the EU delegation to Ghana, and Di Girolamo will be serving in Madagascar.(ANSA).
